The majority of us has no clue where to begin with how to survive a pandemic (though a few of us thought toilet paper might be the answer), but we can share what we do know. We know how to come together and rejoice, be goofy, forgive, be brave, grieve, show sadness, share frustration, mourn, and express worry. And this is one of life's opportunities to show our kids how to do these things and teach them that each of these things can be happening at the same time sometimes. Humans are not born innately knowing how to do these things - our caring adults showed us how (many of us remember in times of grief and loss having the community gather together, each with a casserole, or a bottle and share in celebration and mourning, while we watched and learned what that looked like). While there isn't a rule book, the one thing that matters is that we do these things together, in connection and with love. And that is how we keep hearts safe. 9/14/2021 02:20:11 pm
