We are so thankful that the Silent Auction was able to raise over $4,100! Proceeds from the Silent Auction directly benefited Aaron's Butterfly Run Ottawa/Gatineau, in support of families who've experienced pregnancy loss, infant loss, or infertility.
We intentionally decided that 100% of run registrations for Aaron's Butterfly Run Ottawa/Gatineau will go directly to Roger Neilson House. But this also meant that we needed to come up with creative ideas to raise money to support the costs of coordinating the Run itself. Our Silent Auction is one of the vehicles for doing this. The proceeds were carefully used to cover costs of things such as Race Kits. Any leftover money was used in our community to support pregnancy loss, infant loss, and infertility. For example, we donated $1,000 to the Butterfly Box - a donation which was able to create an additional 50 boxes, free of charge, for members of our community. Its also important to note that Aaron's Butterfly Run Ottawa/Gatineau is organized entirely by volunteers. Our proceeds went to Roger Neilson House, supported the Run itself, and were utilized to support pregnancy loss, infant loss, or infertility in our community. Continue to Join and Share!
The Silent Auction happened online, in this Facebook group, on June 2nd and 3rd, 2017. Since we had almost 1,000 members in this group for the Auction, we've decided to keep the group alive to continue raising awareness about miscarriage, infant loss, and infertility, and to share information about upcoming events related to the Butterfly Run Ottawa/Gatineau.
