The Butterfly Run Ottawa aims to raise awareness and support around pregnancy loss, infant loss, pregnancy after loss, and infertility in Ottawa and surrounding areas. In addition, all proceeds from the run are donated to Roger Neilson House (RNH), a pediatric palliative care hospice.
In collaboration with the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) palliative care team, RNH offers multiple services, including a Perinatal Hospice program which provides support to families whose babies are likely to die before, during, or shortly after birth. Perinatal Hospice includes comprehensive support from the time of diagnosis, through the birth and death of the infant, and into the postpartum period.
RNH also offers a Perinatal Loss Bereavement Support Group for parents who have lost a pregnancy over 20 weeks or infant death (up to the first 28 days of life).
The Butterfly Run Ottawa is organized by a dedicated team of volunteers who are passionate about ensuring parents and families navigating through devastating loss have the support, care and resources they desperately need.
